We are a community-based, non-profit family resource centre located in St. John's, NL. We believe that all children have the right to quality early learning and family child care. Our early childhood experts are ready to share many resources and programs to help foster your child's early learning. Playgroups
Our regularly scheduled playgroups will resume the week of Sept. 14. Playgroups will be open to the public on Tuesday's and Thurdsday's from 9:30 am - 11:30am. Wednesday's playgroups are open to Child care providers only from 9:30am-11:30 am. Playgroups are free of charge, but donations are greatly appreciated.
CLOSED FOR LABOUR DAY
Our Office will be closed On September 6th 2010 for Labour Day.
AECENL Conference (Nov. 12, 13, 14)
The AECENL conference will take place at the holiday Inn St. John's, NL on November 12/2010. For more information please check the AECENL website, http://www.aecenl.ca
Setting the Stage Workshop (Sept. 21,28, Oct. 5, 26) 7pm-10pm
We are happy to be offering you a 4 part workshop called " Setting the Stage" beginning September 21 until October 25th. This series of workshops covers ways in which you as a child care provider, can support Children's Behaviours in every situation. Topics on implementing activities, creating a quality learning environment and adult interactions with the children will be covered. This series of workshops will be held at 50 Pippy Place.
Child Care First Aid
The Red Cross is offering a Child Care First Aid course for any of our child care providers, substitutes, and anyone else interested on Sunday Sept. 19 2010. The course will be held at Family and Child Care connections, 50 Pippy Place from 8:30am- 4:30pm. All participants are asked to register NO LATER than Sept.13.
Family Child Care Training
This training is for individuals applying for family child care approval OR those who are interested in learning more about regulated family child care. All training will be held on Wednesday nights, Sept. 15, 29, Oct 13, 20, Nov. 10, 17, 24, Dec. 1, 8, 15 (7pm-9pm) and on one Saturday Oct. 23( 9am-4pm). ALL DATES ARE TENTATIVE UNTIL THE SEPT 15 START DATE.
